Founder & Manager
At just 38 years old, Micah Condon represents the face of today’s generation of entrepreneurs. The founder and manager of Daily Painters Gallery, Micah is a visionary, a resourceful, creative leader who is not afraid to take risks, and whose definition of success is finding personal fulfillment while building a community and reaching out to others.
Born and raised in the mountain states of Colorado, Wyoming and Montana, Micah was a mechanic in the army, stationed in Germany, prior to working as a computer programmer in Colorado. It was during this time that he discovered painting. Pouring through art books and internet resources, he experimented with various media and styles before developing his own loose, colorful style using pastels.
In 2005, Micah discovered a burgeoning new movement in the art world, called daily painting. Intrigued by the discipline of committing to painting and blogging daily, Mr. Condon decided to give it a go. After a year of dedicated daily painting, Micah became passionate about not only his art, but also the gift of being truly connected to his followers and fellow painters through his blog.
THE BEGINNINGS OF AN IDEA
Combining his computer skills and artistic talents, Mr. Condon contacted other artists whose work he admired and asked if they’d like to join together and form a daily painting gallery blog online, a place where both new and experienced collectors could come to view a variety of different art styles and artists in an approachable and personal setting. He envisioned a true artists’ gallery, in which each member would thrive individually by working as a whole, and communicate regularly with other members to share ideas and encouragement.
Daily Painters Gallery officially began in September of 2006 and quickly gained attention as well as a strong and growing following by both collectors and artists. In order to maintain quality and cohesiveness, Mr. Condon formalized the blog into a website and instituted a strict jury process for admitting new members to the gallery, all the while sticking to his joint goals of “keeping it personal” by facilitating direct customer access to the artists, and encouraging communication among the member artists.
Flash forward to 2010: with 165 international member artists, a collaborative art book selling strongly and a major website overhaul, Mr. Condon’s Daily Painters Gallery is the oldest, largest and most diverse gallery of its kind. Using his computer knowledge, Micah has recently added customer-requested options such as gift certificates, a wish list and greater searching capabilities.
“What excites me most about Daily Painters Gallery are all of the connections that have been made within our artists’ community and with our collectors – some very great friendships and partnerships have been formed that I believe will have an ongoing impact on our members and the online art community,” says Mr. Condon.
Micah resides in Colorado with his wife and three children. When he’s not managing the Gallery, he enjoys his family, playing the electric bass, rebuilding motorcycles, and when he can find a moment, painting.
