About Michael Parkes:

Michael S. Parkes is an artist and writer living in Eastern Washington. Born 1955 in Blackshear, Georgia. He began his education at the Georgia Institute of Technology in architecture, and ended up at the University of Georgia in graphic design. I have worked as an art director and graphic designer for several nationally recognized advertising agencies since 1977.

Gallery exhibits, awards and shows: I used to exhibit a lot at art shows in the southeast during the 90's, but full time employment and kids took a bite out of that deal.

Artist's statement:

Painting for me is simply an organic outgrowth of my life. I hope you find some reminder in my work of the glory of our existence. There is something wonderful in our lives that I want to bring forth!
