With a splash of color and a splintering of light, the motion of brush and cutting of knife ~ the breath of that second captured on canvas. The energy passes from the artist to the surface and the journey begins.
Color captures both life and action in Laurie's paintings. She approaches the canvas with open energy, an intense palette knife and wide brush strokes. There is no fear of creativity and discovery as each painting evolves on the canvas. Laurie is a full time professional artist working out of her studio six days a week. She holds a degree in commercial art with 9 years experience as head artist for an ad agency, and 25 years of teaching art, piano and guitar. Sheer grit of survival following several personal tragedies with in her family have brought her full circle in the knowledge of life, giving to others and living each day to its fullest potential. Stretching the limit in exploring color and space is the daily challenge.
Art was woven into her first memories as an older cousin flourished in creativity before Laurie's eyes, captivating her senses into the world of pencil and paint. The passion ignited into a life long existence as Laurie opened In Perspective Studio in 1982. Graphics One Design came into existence in 1998. From web design to commission pieces stretching 8 ft by 8 ft in size, Laurie's love of pushing paints became a full time job.
